How To Start Your Semester Off Right

Break is over, and classes are back in session. As much as I would love to still be spending hours out catching up with my hometown friends, or staying in my pajamas all day, it is time to change up the pace and get back into a routine. Starting the semester off right will better the chances fora more productive and a less stressful school year; here are a few tips to help get back into the swing of things!

1. Get organized and stay organized
Let’s be real, we have all gotten a planner or calendar and only used it once before finding it again at the end of the semester in the bottom of a drawer. Start this semester off by not only getting a planner to map out your days, but to organize your whole life as well, which will lead to less stress when you no longer have to rush at the last minute to accomplish assignments or panic when you accidentally double book yourself.
2. Maintain a well balanced diet
You can’t do great if you don’t feel great! I often use the common excuse of being too busy to prepare a proper meal or eat more than once a day, but maintaining a balanced diet will allow you to have more energy and fuel for a full and productive day. Remember also to always stay hydrated; water is an essential part of your diet, and skipping over it can lead to many health problems that can bring your semester to a fast halt.
3. Set a sleep schedule
As most of you already know, college can go from 0-100 real quick, resulting in some serious sleep scarifies (usually caused by our best friend, procrastination). To help get back on track after those all nighters, go back on a strict sleep schedule and stick to it to help put your body back on a routine and ensure that you stay well rested. If you stay organized, procrastination won’t win this semester, and you can focus on your much needed beauty rest!
4. Have some fun
Yes, school can and always will be stressful, but don’t forget to have fun too! Finish your work on time so you can have time to spend with your girls or even have some quality one-on-one time. Have a well deserved “treat yo’ self” day with your friends or a relaxing day of self-care with your favorite skincare products. No matter what mood you’re in, it’s always important to schedule-in some regular time to unwind and enjoy the best days of our lives.
